1. Ride Safety Policy

At Okito, the safety of both passengers and drivers is a top priority. These policies are designed to ensure a secure and comfortable experience for everyone using the platform.

Safety Features for Passengers:

  • Real-Time Tracking: Passengers can track their driver’s location in real-time, allowing them to monitor their trip and share ride details with friends or family.

  • Driver Information: Before the ride begins, passengers can view the driver’s name, vehicle information, and license plate number to confirm they are getting into the right car.

  • Emergency Assistance Button: In the app, passengers have access to an emergency button that can immediately connect them with local authorities if they feel unsafe during a ride.

  • Driver Rating and Reviews: Passengers can rate their driver and leave feedback at the end of every trip to ensure a high level of service and safety.

Safety Features for Drivers:

  • Passenger Information: Drivers can see the passenger’s name, photo (if applicable), and other basic details to confirm they are picking up the correct person.

  • Navigation and Alerts: Okito provides drivers with turn-by-turn navigation and alerts for areas with known safety risks.

  • Emergency Button: Drivers also have access to an emergency button in their app to quickly contact emergency services if needed.

Zero Tolerance for Unsafe Behavior:

  • Impaired Driving: Okito has a zero-tolerance policy for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Drivers who are reported for unsafe driving behavior, such as reckless driving or intoxication, will be immediately deactivated pending investigation.

  • Harassment or Violence: Any physical or verbal abuse, harassment, or threatening behavior will not be tolerated. Okito reserves the right to ban passengers or drivers from the platform for engaging in such conduct.

2. Anti-Discrimination Policy

Okito is committed to providing a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory environment for all users. Discrimination of any kind is strictly prohibited and can lead to account suspension or permanent deactivation.

Prohibited Grounds for Discrimination:

  • Race or Ethnicity

  • National Origin

  • Gender, Gender Identity, or Sexual Orientation

  • Religion or Beliefs

  • Disability

  • Age

Discrimination by either drivers or passengers based on any of these grounds is not tolerated.

Driver Conduct:

  • Equal Access: All drivers must provide services to any passenger, regardless of race, religion, gender, or any other protected characteristic.

  • Assistance for Disabled Passengers: Drivers are expected to accommodate passengers with disabilities. This includes allowing service animals and assisting with the loading of wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

  • Reporting Discrimination: If a driver refuses service to a passenger based on any protected characteristic, the driver’s account may be deactivated following an investigation.

Passenger Conduct:

  • Respect for Drivers: Passengers must treat drivers with respect and may not refuse a ride or rate a driver poorly based on their race, religion, gender, or any other protected attribute.

  • Reporting Discrimination: If a passenger discriminates against a driver, their account may be suspended or banned from the platform.

Reporting Discrimination or Safety Violations

If you experience or witness any form of discrimination or unsafe behavior during a ride, it’s important to report it immediately through the app. Okito investigates all reports seriously and ensures appropriate action is taken.

How to Report:

  1. Go to the Help or Support section in the app.

  2. Select the ride in question.

  3. Choose the Report an Issue option, and follow the steps to file a complaint about safety or discrimination.

Okito may ask for additional details to fully investigate the incident and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to uphold safety and fairness on the platform.

Consequences for Violations

  • Temporary Suspension: Users (drivers or passengers) reported for unsafe behavior or discrimination may have their accounts temporarily suspended while an investigation is conducted.

  • Permanent Deactivation: Repeat or severe violations of the ride safety or anti-discrimination policies may result in permanent account deactivation.

  • Legal Action: In cases of criminal behavior, such as physical violence, Okito may cooperate with law enforcement authorities and pursue legal action if necessary.
