The Okito Real-Time Driver Tracking feature allows passengers to monitor their assigned driver's location from the moment a booking is accepted until the driver arrives at the pickup point. This feature helps passengers prepare for pickup, reduce waiting time, and stay informed throughout the driver's approach.
Step 1: Open the Okito App
Launch the Okito application on your mobile device and log in to your account.
Ensure that:
- Internet connection is active.
- Location services are enabled.
- The app is updated to the latest version.
Step 2: Book Your Ride
Enter your:
- Pickup location
- Destination
- Preferred ride category
Review your trip details and tap "Book Ride".
Okito will begin searching for the nearest available partner driver.
Step 3: Wait for Driver Assignment
Once a driver accepts your booking, a Driver Information Card will appear on your screen.
The card displays:
- Driver name
- Driver photo
- Vehicle make and model
- Vehicle color
- Plate number
- Estimated arrival time
The real-time tracking feature becomes available immediately after driver assignment.
Step 4: View the Live Driver Map
Tap the Live Tracking Map section to expand the tracking screen.
You will see:

? Driver's current location

The driver's position automatically updates as they travel toward your location.
Step 5: Monitor Driver Progress
As the driver moves, the map displays:
Driver Movement Indicators

This allows you to understand the driver's progress without needing to contact them.
Step 6: Follow the Arrival Countdown
Okito provides a dynamic arrival timer that adjusts based on:
- Current traffic conditions
- Road closures
- Driver movement
- Weather-related delays
The estimated arrival time updates automatically to provide a more accurate pickup expectation.
Step 7: Use the "Ready for Pickup" Indicator
When the driver is nearby, Okito may display a Ready for Pickup notification.
At this stage:
- Gather your belongings.
- Move toward your selected pickup point.
- Verify vehicle details before boarding.
This helps create a smoother pickup experience for both passengers and drivers.
Step 8: Communicate When Necessary
If you need to coordinate with the driver:
Tap the Call Driver or Chat Driver option.
Examples include:
- Confirming your exact location.
- Identifying nearby landmarks.
- Informing the driver of temporary access restrictions.
- Advising of minor delays in reaching the pickup point.
Always communicate respectfully and only through official Okito communication channels.
Step 9: Activate Trip Sharing (Optional)
For added peace of mind, passengers may use the Share My Ride feature.
This allows trusted contacts to view:
- Driver information
- Vehicle information
- Live trip location
- Estimated arrival time
Trip sharing is especially useful for:
- Night travel
- Solo travel
- Long-distance trips
- Travel to unfamiliar locations
Step 10: Receive Arrival Notification
When the driver reaches the pickup point, Okito sends an arrival notification.
The app may display:

? Exact pickup location
? Vehicle details
Before entering the vehicle:
- Match the plate number.
- Confirm vehicle model and color.
- Verify the driver information shown in the app.
Step 11: Continue Tracking During the Trip
Once the ride begins, the tracking map remains active.
Passengers can continue monitoring:
- Current route
- Destination progress
- Estimated arrival time
- Live trip location
This provides additional transparency throughout the journey.
If the Driver Appears Stationary
Possible reasons include:
- Traffic congestion
- Traffic signals
- Road incidents
- Passenger drop-off completion before your pickup
You may contact the driver through the app for clarification if needed.
